Who We Are
The FCTAS is a Saskatchewan Tennis Affiliated Organization and a Non-Profit Corporation
Dedicated to Tennis with a Purpose, we are focused on bringing everyone together on the courts regardless of race, religion or gender.
Our Goals
Celebrate Culture and Mutual Understanding
According to Statistics Canada’s most recent 2016 census data, the Filipino language, Tagalog, is the second most spoken mother tongue in the province. Approximately 24,125 people speak Tagalog in Saskatchewan making Filipinos a large part of the cultural framework of Saskatchewan. We love Saskatchewan and it’s people and our goal is to introduce the Filipino culture to all Canadians in our province to celebrate the diversity of all the cultures that make up Saskatchewan.
Develop the Next Generation of Canadian Tennis Players
Tomorrow’s athletes starts with inspiring youths today, our goal is to inspire the next generation of Tennis Players. To accomplish this we believe in delivering FCTAS Barrier-Free Youth Tennis Programs to Newcomers in our Province who may be unfamiliar with how to register their child in organized sports or lack the resources to enter their child in Tennis Programs. Another positive benefit with our cross cultural program is to allow Saskatchewan youths to play together and expose Saskatchewan youths to the diverse cultural communities in our province by learning and playing the wonderful sport of Tennis.
Have Fun while being Active
Have Fun and be Active! Physical activity has so many benefits in achieving both mental and physical health. Obesity and Mental Health are significant issues that we need to tackle and Tennis is an amazing sport that lets you get outside running and swinging which has so many benefits in building up cardiovascular strength and reducing stress by having fun. Playing doubles or singles let’s you build friendships that lasts and adds to your lifetime!
